Miscellaneous Information:

White Waltham Airfield, the home of West London London Aero Club (WLAC), is one of the oldest and best known airfields in the country. Set in 200 acres on the edge of a picturesque estate in the beautiful Berkshire countryside, it is one of the largest grass airfields in Britain. White Waltham is situated just three miles from the M4 (J8/9) and six miles from the M40 (J4). Central London is only 35 miles away and easily accessible by train or taxi. Windsor, Ascot, Henley, Reading and Maidenhead are all within easy reach. Let West London Aero Club provide you with the means to take your first steps into the world of aviation. A key part of our business at WLAC is teaching people to fly. We offer top quality, competively priced aviation instruction on the whole range of JAR courses, including PPL, NPPL, IMC, Night Flying, Safety Pilots Courses & Flying Instructor Courses, these are all backed up with a comprehensive range of ground school tuition.

Our flying school is open from 08:00 hrs seven days a week, and anyone of any age can learn to fly, although you do need to be 16 years old before you can go solo. Why not start by booking an introductory lesson? With both the half hour and the one hour trial lesson you will receive a full briefing both before and after the flying. In the winter this will take place in our cosy warm club house where you can enjoy the facilities of our bar and restaurant. In the Summer you can wander outside onto the lawn and watch the comings and goings of the aircraft on the field.
