The Evolution of General Aviation and Light Aircraft - from Moth to eGo

The Royal Aeronautical Society would like to formally invite you to an evening lecture with Dr Ronald Smith FRAeS, Aeronautical Engineer and Author taking place on Thursday 7th September.

General Aviation is a very important sector of the aviation industry, dwarfing the commercial sector in terms of the number and variety of aircraft involved. This lecture will review factors that influence (positively and negatively) the health of this sector. It will focus on enduring light aircraft roles and discuss representative designs from the start of private flight to the present day, including some comparisons of the performance of modern and older aircraft. The lecture will conclude with a look at future trends and challenges for the private aircraft sector.

This event will be held at the Royal Aeronautical Society headquarters and No.4 Hamilton Place, London W1J 7BQ. The Lecture will commence at 18.00 hrs, and there will be refreshments available beforehand from 17.30 hrs.
